Hi! I’m Tina,

I was born and raised in Shanghai, China, and I am currently living with my family in Atlanta, GA. I enjoy playing volleyball, appreciating fine arts, and contemplating the nature of humanities through the lenses of philosophy, politics, economics, and law.

At the onset of this pandemic, I was only disappointed that none of my plans could be realized. However, as the situation continues to exacerbate, I am forced to be separated from many of my close relatives and friends in Shanghai and at school. Furthermore, I am thrown into a lifestyle that I have yet learned how to navigate: living with my parents for more than two weeks, studying remotely, and avoiding people and public recreations for safety… In particular, my inability to fundamentally change the situation frustrates me.

Nevertheless, I am grateful for this pandemic for allowing me more time to read, introspect, and discover unknown passions. I become fascinated by philosophy through Crash Course. After scattered readings, I furthered my passion by taking an ethics class in the summer. During my study, I found philosophy to be a rather practical examination and guidance on how to be “happier” and “better” regardless of one’s situation. I was especially drawn to The Myth of Sisyphus by Albert Camus. The existentialist philosophy helped me to find motivations to keep living despite the absurdity and mundanity of life. What truly inspired me to use my knowledge of philosophy to help others combating pandemic-related challenges was my heart-touching conversation with my mother.

I re-equipped myself with wisdom from philosophers to combat pandemic-related challenges. Now, I hope to help you Re-Equip as well.
